variations

Steven Specht here...

Here's another example of how I go about my work (trade secret?). I saw this picture of a nice room that I think I got out of a home decor magazine. I really liked the strong light source from outside and knew that it would lend itself well to one of the things I like to do best.... space-scape backgrounds (I hope it's not getting too predictable). I should have taken a photo before I cut the door and window out for full comparison; but here are three candidate space-scapes I was playing with for the background. To me, one of them is "clearly" works best. Which do you think it is? Enjoy!

I like the looks of the 2nd one best but the 3rd one seems to make more sense as far as a the light source. I am not sure the 2nd one would shine so much light but then I know very little about space :)

Currently #3 is the best despite the weakness of light coming from a defuse star field. If the doorway spacescape could be flipped horizontally it would be tops by far. Better lighting and more drama.

I think the 2nd one works best in terms of design and color. One's eye roams back and forth between the sky scape red color and the red flowers, while the light gray rug is nicely balanced by the light gray ceiling.
